7 Vastu Rules To Place Ganpati Murti At Home For Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated from September 19 to 28 this year.

Here are some tips to keep in mind if you plan to bring Ganpati Bappa home.

As per Vastu, the Ganesh idol must be placed in the west, north and northeast directions of the house. Do not keep it in the south direction as it is considered inauspicious.

When buying the idol, select one where the trunk of the elephant god is pointed towards the left as it symbolises happiness and success.

A Ganpati murti design in sitting position, also known as the lalitasana, is considered ideal within the home, as it symbolises peace.

If you are seeking happiness, peace and prosperity, bring home a white Ganpati idol.

When selecting the murti, make sure the mouse (Ganesh's vehicle) and the modak (His favourite sweet) are part of it.

It is suggested that one household should have just one Ganpati idol.

Never keep your Ganesh murti in these spaces - bedroom, garage, laundry room, underneath staircases and, of course, bathroom.
