7 Tips for Caring for a Pineapple Plant

Producer:  Riya Ashok

The best soil for pineapple plants is well-draining and somewhat acidic.

Although pineapple plants don't tolerate wet soil, they do prefer steady moisture.

Temperatures between 65 and 85 °F (18 and 29 °C) are ideal for pineapple plants.

During the growing season (spring and summer), fertilise your pineapple plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every two to three months.

To promote wholesome development, regularly remove any dead or yellowing leaves.

Repot only when necessary—typically every 2-3 years—when the plant becomes root-bound.

Your pineapple plant will develop a flowering stem that will eventually bear fruit as it ages.

It can take some time to grow pineapples from the top (crown) or from the side branch (sucker).
