9 vegetables you should avoid this summer

Cruciferous vegetables Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage are nutritious but they can cause bloating. This can be uncomfortable during the hot weather.

Cruciferous vegetables Spicy peppers like jalapenos, habaneros, red and green chillies can increase body heat. These may not be the best choice during the summer. 

Radishes Radishes contain a lot of heat properties and can often increase the body heat, thus consuming them in the hot weather can be a bad idea. It will be advisable to avoid them in summers.

Pumpkin This vegetable contains high amount of carbohydrates which are hard to digest. Consuming them in the heat can lead to discomfort.

Beetroots Beets and other root vegetables can be a bad idea to consume during the summer. These are heavy and heat-producing when consumed in large quantities.

High sodium veggies Canned vegetables often have added sodium for preservation. The consumption of too much sodium can lead to dehydration. It is best to avoid such foods in summer.

Onion and garlic Although onions and garlics add flavour to dishes and are used extensively across Indian cuisine, they produce a lot of heat. This may not be ideal during summer.

Mushrooms This is a versatile ingredient, they can be slightly heat-producing in the body. Enjoy them in moderation and consider lighter alternatives like zucchini or summer squash for stir-fries and sautes.

Spinach and kale Leafy greens are packed  with nutrients, but they can also be high in oxalic acid, which can interfere with calcium absorption and may contribute to kidney stone formation.
