9th planet of the solar system

Scientists and astronomers have been fascinated with Planet Nine, a mysterious and elusive celestial planet, for many years.

This possible ninth planet, located beyond Pluto's orbit, remains hidden in the frigid and dark edges of our Solar System, making discovery extremely difficult.

However, a recent research found "a new line of evidence supporting the existence" of the planet, which was previously assumed to be orbiting the Sun in an orbit past Neptune.

Unusual activity seen near the solar system's furthest reaches suggests the existence of an unnamed celestial body.

To shed insight on the existence of Planet Nine, researchers studied trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs), or things beyond Neptune.

TNOs are challenging to examine because of their unpredictable motions caused by its interactions with Neptune's orbit.

The most reasonable explanation for TNOs orbits comes from simulations that the researchers did, using Planet Nine among other factors.

The soon-to-be-online Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile should be able to find it within a year or two, proving its existence once and for all.
