All about Byakuya, the world's most expensive ice cream from Japan
A PRICEY SCOOP:
Cellato, a famous ice cream brand from
Japan
, has accomplished the remarkable feat of crafting the
world's priciest ice cream
.
It's named
Byakuya
and each serving costs
$6,696 (Rs 5.54 lakh).
Byakuya was named the world's most expensive ice cream by the
Guinness World Records.
The reason for the
whopping cost
of the ice cream is its special ingredients.
Its ingredients include a rare
white truffle
grown in Alba, Italy.
White truffle is priced at
two million Japanese yen (Rs 11.9 lakh).
Byakuya also uses Parmigiano Reggiano, sake lees, and
edible gold leaf,
which adds to its uniqueness and delight.
These meticulously selected ingredients are skilfully mixed to produce a
fusion of European and Japanese flavour.
The 130ml portion comes with a
hand-crafted
metal spoon.
Cellato partnered with renowned Osaka restaurant RiVi's head chef,
Tadayoshi Yamada
, to create the extraordinary ice cream flavour.
The ice cream took over
1.5 years
to develop, with a lot of trials and errors to get the taste right.
Cellato's ice cream has
no expiry date
but is recommended to be consumed within 10 days for the best flavour and texture.
