Entod Pharmaceuticals' PresVu eye drops are believed to be breakthrough for treating presbyopia. Here’s all you need to know:
Mumbai-based Entod Pharmaceuticals recently launched PresVu eye drops.
DGCI granted approval to it after two years of consideration.
It uses pilocarpine, a compound used in the treatment of glaucoma.
It teats Presbyopia, an age-related vision issue that worsens over time.
PresVu treats presbyopia patients by constricting pupils to see objects up close.
A drop of PresVu claims to work within 15 minutes and last up to 6 hours.
Second drop within 3 to 6 hours of the first one extends the effect to 9 hours.
PresVu will be only available with a prescription from October onwards.
Experts consider it effective temporarily but not a permanent solution.
