Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
Bishnoi has shared a Facebook post revealing his role.
The shooting is allegedly a message for Salman Khan, who is friends with Gippy Grewal.
The post claimed that Salman's “response to Sidhu Moose Wala’s death” put him on Bishnoi’s “radar.”
While addressing Gippy Grewal, Bishnoi said, “You consider Salman Khan a brother.”
It added, “But now it’s time for your ‘brother’ to come and save you.”
On Salman Khan, Bishnoi said, “Don’t be in the illusion that Dawood will save you; no one can save you.”
The post added, “Your dramatic response to Sidhu Moose Wala’s death did not go unnoticed.”
The threat comes days after Bishnoi claimed Salman Khan "insulted his community."
He asked Salman Khan to seek an apology for killing a black buck.
