Apple plans to increase production in India by 5X to around $40 billion in the next 4-5 years.

An anonymous government source told PTI that Apple exceeded $7 billion in production in the previous fiscal year.

Apple already manufactures iPhones in India; this year, ‘Assembled in India’ iPhones 15 were available on launch.

Apple has opened two official stores in India: Apple BKC, Mumbai and Apple Saket, New Delhi.

Apple may not initially participate in IT hardware PLI, but it's focused on scaling up existing production levels.
