Dry coconut, grated - 1/4 cup Oil - As required Onion, sliced - 2 Garlic cloves - 5 Ginger, finely chopped - 1 Tomato, finely chopped - 1 Coriander powder - 1 tbsp Goda masala - 1tbsp Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp Mataki - 250 gm Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Salt - 1/2 tsp Water - 4 glass Jaggery - As required Farsan - As required Chopped onion - As required Chopped coriander leaves - As required
In the same pan add 1 tsp oil. Add sliced onion, garlic and ginger. Add tomato and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
When the mixture cools down, transfer it into a blender jar that contains roasted coconut. Blend it well.
Heat oil in a pan, add blended masala and fry. Add coriander powder, goda masala, and red chilli powder. Mix well and fry until masala releases oil.
Take mataki, add water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook on medium heat. Add mataki along with water into the masala. Add salt and jaggery to taste.
Boil misal on medium for 7-8 minutes. Serve it in a bowl add one layer of mataki at the base. You can add layers of boiled potato sabzi, or pohe. Add lots of farsan and kat of misal. Garnish with onion and finely chopped coriander leaves.
Serve it with pav, onion, coriander, and a slice of lemon.
