Authentic South Indian Coconut Chutney Recipe

Blend 1 cup grated coconut, 2 green chilies, and a small piece of ginger.

Add 1/4 cup roasted chana dal and blend to a smooth paste.

Mix in 1/4 cup water or as needed to achieve desired consistency.

Heat 1 tablespoon oil, add 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, and let them splutter.

Add 1/2 teaspoon urad dal, a few curry leaves, and a pinch of asafoetida.

Pour the tempering over the chutney and mix well.

Season with salt to taste.
