It is equipped with LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, fountains and solar power plants.
Local art, paintings and murals are among the major attractions.
The airport is about 15 kilometres from the main city.
It has an extended runway suitable for A-321/B-737 operations.
The airport is expected to boost the local economy and help tourism.
