Bengaluru, India, was the 6th slowest city globally, with an average travel time of 28 minutes and 10 seconds for 10 km.
Pune’s Position
Pune, India, followed closely in 7th position, with drivers taking an average time of 27 minutes and 50 seconds to cover 10 km.
Bengaluru & Pune
Both Bengaluru and Pune had average speeds of 18 km/h and 19 km/h in rush hour, respectively.
Delhi’s Standing
Delhi, India, was positioned 44th, with an average 10 km travel time of 21 minutes and 40 seconds.
Mumbai’s Rank
Mumbai, India, ranked 54th, with an average travel time of 21 minutes and 20 seconds for the same 10 km distance.
Slowest City
London, UK, was the slowest city to drive through in 2023, with an average speed of just 14 km/h in rush hour.
London’s Average
Drivers in London spent an average time of 37 minutes and 20 seconds to cover 10 km.
Top Three
Dublin (Ireland) and Toronto (Canada) were the second and third slowest cities, respectively.
Global Study
TomTom’s Traffic Index 2023 evaluated 387 cities across 55 countries, considering travel time, fuel costs and CO2 emissions.
