The first Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholder meeting after the demise of Charlie Munger will be held on May 4.

Munger’s blunt and witty takes on investing philosophy was a big attraction at the Berkshire Hathaway AGM.

On May 4, Warren Buffett (now 93 years old) will be joined by two of his trusted lieutenants: Greg Abel and Ajit Jain.

72-year-old Ajit Jain manages the insurance (underwriting and investments) business, which contributed about 40% Berkshire’s 2023 earnings.

Ajit Jain is the older cousin of Anshu Jain who was the global co-CEO of Deutsche Bank from 2012 to 2015.

Abel (61) manages the remaining non-insurance vertical that includes railroads, utilities, and manufacturing business.

In 2021, Buffet had declared Abel would take over as Berkshire CEO after him.

Both Abel and Jain took over their current roles in January 2018.

Buffett, Jain and Abel are expected to take as many as 60 questions when they meet shareholders in Omaha.
