Prawn Curry Recipe

Bihari-style prawn curry brings several twists to regular prawn curry. Here's an easy recipe for Bihar-style prawn curry that you can make at home.
Ingredients
Prawns - 400 gm
Onions, chopped - 1/2 cup
Tomatoes, chopped - 1/2 cup
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Haldi - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Yogurt - 3 tsp
Bay leaves - 2
Mustard oil - 2 tbsp
Cardamoms - 2
Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
Salt (according to taste)
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Step 1
First, devein and clean the prawns. Marinate them with haldi and salt and keep them aside.
Step 2
Now, heat mustard oil in a pan and add bay leaves, cardamom, and cinnamon sticks. Give it a nice mix, and then add the chopped onions.
Step 3
Saute until they turn golden brown in colour. Add the ginger-garlic paste, with all the dry masalas and tomatoes. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
Step 4
Add the yoghurt and cook again for a few minutes. Add the marinated prawns and cook until the oil separates.
Step 5
Add water, and cover the pan with a lid. Simmer on low heat for around 10 minutes.
Step 6
Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
