Oman pacer Bilal Khan created history on Wednesday, July 24.
The left-arm medium pacer has become the fastest fast bowler to bag 100 ODI wickets.
He achieved this milestone during an ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match against Namibia.
The 37-year-old claimed three wickets conceding 50 runs in his 10 overs in Dundee.
The Peshawar-born now has 101 wickets in 49 ODIs.
He surpassed Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s previous record of picking up 100 wickets in 51 ODIs.
Afridi set the record during the ODI World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh on October 31.
The overall record for the fastest bowler to dismiss 100 batters in ODIs is held by Sandeep Lamichhane.
The Nepal spinner had scripted this record in his 42nd match.
He is followed by Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who required 44 ODIs to earn his 100th dismissal.
