BMW Motorrad has launched the R 1300 GS in India at ₹20.95 lakh, which is ₹40,000 more than the outgoing R 1250 GS's starting price.
The R 1300 GS undercuts rivals like Ducati Multistrada V4 (₹21.5–31.5 lakh) and Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special (₹24.6 lakh).
The R 1300 GS is powered by a 1,300cc, twin-cylinder engine, delivering 145hp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, up from 134hp and 143Nm.
With a 19-litre fuel tank, the R 1300 GS weighs 237kg, which is 12kg lighter than the 1250 model, though it holds one litre less fuel.
Unlike international variants, all India-spec R 1300 GS bikes come with cross-spoked tubeless wheels as standard.
India-spec 1300 GS bikes include Comfort and Dynamic packages, featuring an electronic windscreen, quickshifter, centre stand and Pro riding modes.
Except for the base Light White variant, all R 1300 GS models in India come with the Touring package, offering pannier mounts, adaptive headlight, and GPS mounting.
The Triple Black variant in India is the only one that can be equipped with the optional Adaptive Ride Height feature.
The range-topping Option 719 Tramuntana features radar-assisted safety, Active Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, and a Green/Yellow paint option.
The R 1300 GS line-up is complex; visiting the BMW Motorrad India website's configurator helps understand the packs and optional extras available.
Deliveries for the BMW R 1300 GS are set to commence this month.
