MW has globally unveiled the M4 CS, a new addition to its “CS or Competition Sport” line-up of track-focused cars.
The M4 CS packs an upgraded version of the M4’s twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight six, boosting its peak power from 530hp to 550hp.
The CS sustains its 650Nm peak for an additional 220rpm at the top end of the rev range.
The powertrain has been reworked for long track sessions, with improved engine cooling and oil supply to the clutch.
The CS is 20kg lighter than the standard model, thanks to a titanium exhaust silencer and various carbonfibre-reinforced components.
With less weight and extra engine performance, the CS cuts the 0-100kph sprint time from 3.5sec to 3.4sec.
The CS’s chassis has been tuned to enhance steering precision and wheel control, achieved through stiffer springs and anti-roll bars.
The CS borrows its staggered lightweight wheels from the previous M3 CS, 19-inch alloys up front and 20-inchers at the rear.
The CS laps Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 min. 21.989 sec, nearly 6.8sec quicker than the M3 CS.
The M4 CS features yellow-tinted DRLs and a red-outlined grille. It is available in Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green paint finishes.
BMW sells the M4 in India, but it remains to be seen whether the M4 CS will be launched in the country.
