Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA G Lasya Nanditha was killed in a horrifying road accident in Sangareddy district’s Aminpur mandal in Telangana early on February 23, 2024.
The 37-year-old member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly from Secundarabad Cantonment was travelling in a Maruti XL6 on the Patancheru Outer Ring Road, when her driver lost control and collided with the divider.
According to an India Today report, Nanditha was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors pronounced her to be brought dead.
However the driver, though critically injured, is undergoing medical treatment.
Lasya Nanditha, born in 1986 in Hyderabad, made her entry into politics nearly a decade ago.
Before getting elected as a MLA from the Secunderabad Cantonment in the 2023 Telangana Assembly polls, Nanditha served as a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward.
Her constituency seat was previously held by her father, G Sayanna, who passed away earlier in 2023. Following this, Nanditha got the BRS nomination and won the assembly election.
BRS supremo and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao condoled Nanditha’s passing and said that the party will provide all the necessary support to her family.
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy also condoled the legislator’s death.
