Canine Star Messi Steals the Show at Cannes Film Festival

The first star on the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival was Messi, a dog from the film “Anatomy of a Fall.

Photographers in tuxedos called out “Messi! Messi!” as the border collie climbed the Palais des Festivals stairs.

Messi sat and held his front paws up, resembling a movie star waving to the crowd and captivated Cannes with his frolicking and barking on the carpet.

Messi's appearance was a return to Cannes where “Anatomy of a Fall” premiered and won the Palme d'Or last year.

Messi, known as Snoop in the film, won the Palm Dog, an award for the festival's top dog.
