Carlos Alcaraz Becomes Youngest Player To Win Wimbledon & French Open In Same Year

Carlos Alcaraz retains the Wimbledon title by defeating seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.

The Spaniard triumphed in straight sets to secure his 2nd Grand Slam of the year.

Alcaraz clinched the French Open by beating Alexander Zverev  last month.

Alcaraz is the youngest to win the Roland Garros and the Wimbledon in the same year.

Five players have earlier achieved this rare feat called the Channel Slam.

Alcaraz has made it happen at the age of 21 years and 70 days.

He has broken the record of Bjorn Borg, who won both Gland Slams in 1978.

The Swedish tennis great was 22 years and 32 days old.

Spanish legend Rafael Nadal won the Channel Slam twice in 2008 and 2010.

Alcaraz is also the third youngest player to defend the Wimbledon title.
