Chhath Puja is a four-day festival which will be celebrated from November 17, 2023 to November 20, 2023.

Apart from religious rituals, special culinary treats are prepared during this puja which reflects India's rustic flavours. Here are five Bihari sweets you must try this Chhath Puja.

Rasiyaw (Gur Ki Kheer)

Rasiyaw is made with rice, milk and jaggery. It is offered to the Sun God during the festival and is eaten by devotees to break their fast after Puja.

Thekua

Thekua is a crunchy, slightly sweet biscuit. On Chhath Puja, it is also served as prasad.

Paneer Khurma (Belgrami)

It’s a deep-fried delicious sweet dish made by kneading dough of fine chhena, cardamom, and sugar. It is soaked in sugar syrup before serving.

Kasar

Kasar is a special laddoo made with rice or wheat flour, jaggery and ghee with fennel seeds and some powdered rice.

Anarsa

This sweet dish is made with powdered rice and has a filling of khoya and dry fruits.
