Madhav Kamath from Sanskriti School, New Delhi was declared the champion of the third season of Collins National Spelling Bee 2022. Kamath’s winning word was 'dialysis.'

Kaavya Majumder from The Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai was the first runner-up. While, Inayat Anand from Cambridge Innovative School, Jalandhar was the second runner-up.

Held at Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai on 17 September, the competition saw thousands of participants & the top 36 scorers reached semi-final, out of which 12 competed against each other in the finale.

In the final round of the competition, a total of 119 words were used & participants had spell all the words within 30 seconds of them being pronounced.

Collins Spelling Bee was incepted in 2020 during the pandemic to engage students in activities that promote learning beyond the textbook.

The competition garnered immense popularity right from the very first year wherein all the rounds were held online.

This year the preliminary rounds and semifinals were conducted online, which were a combination of quizzes and spelling rounds.

Collins organises several educational initiatives every year to help nurture & enhance important skills such as critical thinking, creativity, vocabulary to name a few.
