Use a moisturising shampoo and conditioner Curly hair tends to be drier, so use a sulphate-free and moisturising shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for curly hair. 

Detangle hair while wet Detangling curly hair when it is dry can cause breakage and frizz so make sure to use a wide-tooth comb to detangle the hair while it's wet and coated with conditioner. 

Use a leave-in conditioner Leave-in conditioners provide extra moisture and help define curls while also reducing frizz and enhancing curl patterns. 

Apply styling products on damp hair Applying styling products when your hair is damp helps to lock in moisture and define curls. After washing, use curl creams, gels, or mousses while your hair is still damp.

Use a microfibre towel Regular towels can cause frizz and disrupt the curl pattern so opt for a microfiber towel or even a regular cotton T-shirt to soak up the extra water. 

Avoid heat styling Excessive heat can damage curly hair, which can lead to frizz. This can alter the natural curl pattern. Let your hair air-dry as much as possible or use a diffuser on a low heat setting if you need to dry your hair quickly. 

Use a silk or satin pillowcase Cotton pillowcases can cause friction leading to frizz and disrupted curls. It is time to switch to satin or silk ones as they are not so hard on the hair. 

Refresh curls in between washes Although curly hair doesn’t need to be washed every day it tend to lose its shape between washes. Spritz your hair with water or a curl-refreshing spray to reactivate products and redefine curls.

Avoid touching your hair too much Constantly touching your curls can cause frizz and disrupt the curl pattern. Once you’ve styled your hair, try to avoid running your fingers through it. 

Use a wide-tooth comb Thin brushes can break curly hair and create frizz so use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle your curls. Do this preferably while your hair is wet and conditioned.
