Playing Australia's first T20I vs West Indies, David Warner celebrated his 100th appearance in all formats of the game.
He joined a select group of players, including India’s Virat Kohli and New Zealand’s Ross Taylor, in this unique milestone.
Scoring 70 off 36 at Hobart, on Feb 9 (Fri), Warner became the third player in history and first from his country to make such a landmark in cricket.
The 37-year-old has been a consistent performer for Australia in all formats, solidifying his status among the elite batters to don the Australian jersey.
Daniel Vettori, the current coach of the Australian side, extended his congratulations to Warner for achieving this remarkable milestone.
He called Warner’s consistent performance for Australia across all formats as "a testament to your (Warner’s) skill and your fitness."
Warner has amassed 2964 runs in the 100 T20Is he played, boasting an average of 33.3 and a strike rate of 142.23.
In those matches, he has scored 25 half-centuries, along with the career- best score of 100, which is his only T20I century.
His form is expected to play a crucial role in Australia’s upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup campaign, as they aim to maintain their dominance in ICC tournaments.
