The NDMC's 'Tulip Festival', beginning February 14, has garnered the attention of nature lovers and anthophiles.

The lawns of Shanti Path & several roundabouts in its vicinity are decked up with thousands of red & white tulips imported from the Netherlands.

Those who wish to witness blooming of tulips may visit the festival till February 26th in Shanti Path, Central Park, Children Park, Mandi House, 11 Murti, Windsor Place, Akbar Road, AIIMS Circle, & Palika Kendra.

A total of 1.24 lakh tulip bulbs were brought from the Netherlands & planted in the first week of January in Shanti Path lawns by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

The blooming of tulips coincides with the G20 Foreign Ministers meeting to be held on March 1-2.

The civic body has also organised activities and a photography contest from February 14-25.

People can participate by following the guidelines available on the NDMC website and registering themselves.

Tulip images can be taken and posted on NDMC's social media channels with the hashtag #NDMCTulipfestival.

Each day, 3 images will be picked, & on February 25 the top 3 will be awarded. The Picture of the day for February 15 was shared by @WasimSarvar.

NDMC has installed heart-shaped flower decks & selfie stations in popular locations including Sanjay Park, Laxmibai Nagar, Lodhi Garden, Connaught Place, & others.
