Onion Uttapam Recipe
Uttapam is made with either idli batter or dosa batter. Try this yummy South Indian onion uttapam recipe at home.
Dosa rice - 1.5 cup Urad dal - 1/2 cup Methi - 1/2 tsp Chana dal - 2 tbsp Poha - 1/2 cup Salt - As required Sugar - 1/2 tsp Onion, chopped - 1 Green chillies, chopped - 2 Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp Curry leaves - 7 Oil - As needed

Soak dosa rice, urad dal, methi, and chana dal in a bowl overnight.
Step 1
Now, blend these soaked ingredients with poha to make a smooth batter. Leave it for a few hours for fermentation. Add salt and sugar.
Step 2
Add chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, and curry leaves to a bowl.
Step 3
Heat the pan, sprinkle some water in it and wipe it. Take ½ cup batter and make a thick dosa. Now add onion mixture on top.
Step 4
Press the uttapam lightly so it cooks well
. Cover the uttapam and cook for a minute. Flip it over and cook until golden brown.
