Diabetes in Women: Warning signs you should not ignore

Frequent Urination (Polyuria): Increased urination, especially during the night, can be a sign of diabetes

Excessive Thirst (Polydipsia): If you find yourself feeling unusually thirsty and needing to drink more fluids than usual, it might be a symptom of diabetes

Extreme Fatigue: Persistent fatigue or feeling overly tired, even after getting enough rest, can be a sign of high blood sugar levels and diabetes

Unexplained Weight Changes:  Sudden unexplained weight loss, despite maintaining or increasing food intake, can be a sign of diabetes, especially in Type 1 diabetes

Blurred Vision:  High blood sugar levels can affect the lenses in your eyes, causing blurred or fluctuating vision

Slow Wound Healing: Diabetes can impact the body's ability to heal wounds and injuries, and women may notice that cuts, sores, or bruises take longer to heal

Recurrent Infections: Women with diabetes may be more prone to urinary tract infections (UTIs), yeast infections, and other types of infections

Changes in Menstrual Patterns:  Some women with poorly controlled diabetes may experience irregular menstrual cycles, including heavier or more painful periods

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS):  PCOS is a condition characterized by irregular periods, excessive hair growth, and cysts on the ovaries

Gestational Diabetes: During pregnancy, some women may develop gestational diabetes, which can lead to complications if not properly managed
