Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to clash in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Eliminator in Ahmedabad today.

However, some activities on the eve of the match have attracted a lot of attention.

On Tuesday, the Narendra Modi Stadium hosted Qualifier 1 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Hence, RCB and RR could only use the stadium to train after their match.

The teams were instead given the option to practice at the University Ground in Ahmedabad.

While RR trained between 4 and 6 p.m. at the University Ground, RCB’s decision to cancel their session without any explanation has left many intrigued.

A report in the Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika mentioned Gujarat Police officials hinting that it was related to a security threat to Virat Kohli.

Two days ago, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested four suspected terrorists belonging to ISIS from the Ahmedabad International Airport.

However, it had nothing to do with the terror threats, as RCB’s training was canceled before the arrests were made, as confirmed by sources to News18.

Reportedly, the practice session was cancelled due to the intense heat in Ahmedabad.

The RCB vs. RR game will happen as per schedule. Both teams are determined to secure a spot in the final, adding to the intensity of the competition.
