DelhiOwing to rising pollution levels, Delhi has imposed a complete ban on firecrackers until January 1, 2025.
HaryanaThe laws in Haryana are similar to Delhi. Only green crackers are allowed on Diwali, Gurupurab and Christmas Eve for a certain time.
BiharFollowing the National Green Tribunal's directions, the Bihar government has imposed a complete ban on firecrackers including the green crackers in Patna, Gaya and Muzaffarpur.
MaharashtraSimilar to Bihar, Maharashtra has also imposed a ban on the sale and usage of firecrackers on Diwali, excluding green crackers.
PunjabThe Punjab government has prohibited the sale and usage of firecrackers on Diwali and other upcoming festivals. Only for a limited duration, green crackers are allowed.
Tamil NaduThe time duration to burn firecrackers in Tamil Nadu on Diwali is from 6 am-7 am and 7 pm-8pm. The government is trying hard to control pollution.
West BengalWith a complete ban on firecrackers, the West Bengal government is promoting greener initiatives like green crackers which emit less pollution.
RajasthanTo curb the pollution levels, the Rajasthan government has issued directives on firecrackers sale and usage. Firecrackers can be burst for a specific period only.
KarnatakaThe state government has urged people to only use green crackers during the festive season. It has also urged that crackers be burst only during 8-10 pm
