Dominic Thiem Bids Adieu To US Open; Check Career Highlights Of The 2020 Champion

Dominic Thiem wrapped up his Grand Slam career with a US Open defeat. 

The Austrian tennis ace lost to Ben Shelton in straight sets at Flushing Medows.

Thiem will retire in October after featuring at the Erste Bank Open on home soil.

His first and only Grand Slam victory came at the 2020 US Open.

Thiem was the first player from Austria to triumph at the  hardcourt major.

He got the better of Germany’s Alexander Zverev in a tense five-set final.

In the same year, Thiem secured his career-best ATP world ranking of No. 3.

Thiem has won five of the seven matches he played against Roger Federer. 

He defeated Novak Djokovic in an intense match at the 2019 French Open.

Thiem was the 4th tennis player to win the Austrian Sportsman Of The Year award.
