Dos And Don'ts during Ramadan 2024

This year, the holy month of Ramadan 2024 will begin on March 12 and will end after four weeks with Eid-ul-Fitr on April 11, 2024.

Dos Pray at least five times a day, and offer extra prayers for more rewards.

Offer as much Zakat (charity) as possible to the poor and underprivileged during the holy month of Ramadan.

Start your Ramadan fast with Sehri at dawn and end the fast with Iftar after dusk.

Recite the holy book of the Quran, memorise it, and evaluate the verses they read.

Muslims are encouraged to practice Dhikr, which is praying to Allah and expressing gratitude.

Be polite and patient while observing a fast. Muslims should seek the well-being of their families while praying.

Muslims are encouraged to maintain celibacy throughout this pious period and engage in prayers to strengthen your bond with Allah.

Don'ts    While fasting in the month of Ramadan, Muslims are not allowed to eat or drink water before the Maghrib Azan post sunset.

Consuming alcohol/smoking or forcefully vomiting invalidates the fast.

Ramadan emphasizes self-improvement, so avoid arguing, fighting or negativity and focus on fostering peace and positive interactions.

If you are fasting during Ramadan, listening to music is not acceptable.

Focus on good things and avoid any feelings of hatred or bitterness as it can nullify your fast. Avoid using foul language while fasting.

Avoid keeping fasts if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or having a menstrual cycle.

Don’t miss prayers or delay breaking a fast, during the holy time of Ramadan.
