Easy Peasy Phirni Recipe For Holi

Wash and soak 1/2 cup of Basmati rice in water for 30 minutes.

Drain the soaked rice and grind it into a coarse paste.

Heat 1 liter of full-fat milk in a heavy-bottomed pan until it boils.

Reduce the flame and slowly add the rice paste to the milk.

Now, allow the mixture to thicken. It takes 20-25 mins.

Add 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder and saffron strands.

Now, let the phirni cool slightly.

Transfer the phirni into serving bowls.

Garnish with chopped nuts and rose petals (optional).

Refrigerate for a few hours and voila.
