On June 26, Denmark progressed to the knockout stages of UEFA Euro 2024 after a scoreless match draw with Serbia at Munich Football Arena, ending in second spot of Group C.
While trying to tackle Luka Jovic, Danish player Joachim Andersen scored an own goal in the eighth minute, but was disallowed as offside.
Denmark had a goal-scoring opportunity when Christian Eriksen laid on a perfect cross for Jannik Vestergaard in the 65th minute, but Predrag Rajkovic gobbled up Vestergaard's header.
In the simultaneous Group C game held at Cologne Stadium, England vs Slovenia had a similar 0-0 result, with England emerging as the group topper and Slovenia qualifying as one of the best third-placed teams.
England registered their first shot in the 30th minute of the game, as they were seen struggling for form. Bukayo Saka scored, but the goal was declared offside.
Declan Rice made the most key passes in the first half of the game. Though England failed to score, Rice’s efforts kept Slovenia on its toes throughout the first half.
In the next Group E match, Slovakia shared points with Romania as both teams scored one goal each at Frankfurt Arena on June 26.
Slovakia qualified for the knockout phase of EURO for the second time, with Ondrej Duda's 24' goal.
Romania, on the other hand, topped their EURO group for the first time, with Razvan Marin's 37' equalizer.
The parallel game of Ukraine vs Belgium held at Stuttgart Arena also ended in a draw, with Belgium securing last-16 spot and Ukraine getting eliminated.
At 86' Ukraine's Malinovskyi attempted a goal through a corner, but goalkeeper Koen Casteels saved it. Then Ukraine got another corner but failed again.
At 92' midfielder Heorhiy Sudakov almost scored for Ukraine, breaking through the Belgium defence but Casteels stood in the way again.
