Expressways, coastal roads among projects likely to be unveiled ahead of Lok Sabha elections

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

The world's longest continuous eight-lane expressway will measure 1,380 km when completed. It will pass through states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Chaar Dham  National Highway

It is an under construction two-lane 719-km national highway with a minimum width of 10 metres being built in Uttarakhand.

Mumbai Trans Harbour Link

India's longest sea bridge when completed will be 21.8 kilometers long.

Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway

It is an under-construction 1,257 km long, 4/6-lane wide expressway which will connect Amritsar in Punjab to Jamnagar in Gujarat (Image: Youtube)

Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway

The Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway is an approved 670 km  long, four-lane wide (expandable to eight) controlled-access expressway, which will connect Bahadurgarh border in Delhi with Katra in Jammu and Kashmir via Nakodar and Gurdaspur in Punjab

Coastal Road

The Coastal Road is an under construction eight-lane, 22.2-km long freeway that will run along Mumbai's western coastline connecting Marine Lines in the south to Kandivali in the north.

Ganga Expressway

The Ganga Expressway is an under-construction 594 km long and six-lane wide (expandable to 8) greenfield expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

A border road along India-China border is also coming up,  a crucial link in the country's security  setup.
