EY employee death: India among most overworked countries – check top-10

The government of India on September 19 initiated a probe into the circumstances leading to Ernst and Young (EY) employee Anna Perayil’s death, allegedly due to work stress.

According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), as of January 11, 2024, India ranks second globally for the highest number of overworked individuals. Here’s a look at the countries with the highest percentage of employees working 49 or more hours per week.
