In order to provide a seamless travel experience in Navi Mumbai, the government is all set to kickstart Metro Line 1, which will be spread over 11.1 km.
It has been reported that the upcoming metro will connect Belapur to Pendhar.
As per the details shared by the City and Industrial Development Corporation CIDCO, the project is expected to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister in October.
It has been informed that the upcoming metro line will have more than 10 stations.
They include Sector-7 Bela-pur, Belapur, Science Park, Sector 11 Kharghar, Utsav Chowk, Central Park, Sector 14 Kharghar, Sector 34 Kharghar, Petha-pada, Pendhar Terminal and Panch-nand.
Apart from this, the metro line will feature two traction substractions at Panchanand and Kharghar.
To give financial support to the project, CIDCO has obtained a Rs 500 crore credit from the ICICI Bank.
Earlier, it was reported that the much-awaited project had to go through a lot of difficulties as it was witnessing multiple issues related to legal, financial, technical and contractor.
