Five Controversies From Asia Cup 2023 So Far

1. BCCI's no to PAK - Last year, BCCI secretary Jay Shah proclaimed the Indian team won't travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023

Asia Cup was originally scheduled to be held entirely in Pakistan but BCCI said Indian government won't permit them to send  team across the border

2. PCB Threat - An irked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) then threatened to boycott the 2023 ODI World Cup in India in response

PCB contested that if other major cricket nations had no issues touring Pakistan then neither should India

3. Hybrid Model -  Eventually, the Asian Cricket Council agreed to a hybrid model that saw matches being held in Pakistan & Sri Lanka

India were to play all of their matches in Sri Lanka during the tourney but not everyone in Pakistan was happy with the arrangement

4. Shifting of Venues - With rain wreaking havoc in Colombo, reports emerged that the remainder of Asia Cup could be held in Hambantota

It wasn't meant to be as ACC stuck to Colombo despite forecast of more rain in the city

5. Reserve Day - In a stunning turn of events, a reserve day was added just for IND-PAK Super 4 clash with threats of rain over the contest
