Flying Taxis In India Soon? Anand Mahindra Shares Details
Anand Mahindra hinted that India will likely receive its first electric air taxi soon.
The prototype has been created by an ePlane company incubated at IIT Madras.
The air taxi will be launched in 2025.
It will be able to accommodate two persons at a time.
The battery-operated vehicle will have a load capacity of 200 kg.
On a single charge, the air taxi will cover a distance of 160-200 km.
It will be capable of flying at an average speed of 200 kmph.
The flagship project is aimed at reducing on-road traffic congestion.
The air taxi is expected to offer “up to 10X faster intra-city commute.”
It can also be used as a mode of cargo transportation.
