The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held from 4 to 30 June. 7 of the matches are to be hosted by the Caribbean and 3 by the USA.

Defending champions England, runners-up Pakistan, semi-finalists India and New Zealand are all part of the 9th T20 World Cup.

The 2024 edition of the World Cup is historic as it will feature 20 teams for the first time, to allow more teams to showcase their potential at the global front.

All the 20 teams for the 2024 T20 World Cup have been finalised after November 30, 2023, Thursday’s Uganda vs Rwanda T20 match.

The qualified teams include 1 team each from the Americas and East Asia-Pacific regions, and 2 teams each from Africa, Asia, and Europe.

The qualified teams are- Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, England, India, Ireland, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Uganda, USA and West Indies.

Uganda has made history by qualifying for their first-ever ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, by defeating Rwanda. They were the last to complete the 20-team lineup.

The tournament format includes the 20 teams being divided into 4 groups. Then the top 2 teams of each group moving to a Super Eight round.

The remaining teams will be split into 2 groups of four. The top 2 in each group (i.e., 4 teams) will then make their way to the semi-finals, followed by the final.
