With Ganesh Chaturthi just a week away, the streets of Mumbai are coming alive.

Queues of exquisite Ganpati idols made their way to their designated pandals.

Throngs of people were out on Mumbai streets to see their beloved Ganpati bappa.

Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha.

It will be celebrated from September 19-28 this year.

Extending over 10 days, the festival provides an opportunity for people to come together in prayer, seeking blessings for wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune.

The festival is thought to have been popularized by the Maratha king Shivaji Maharaj, who used it to unite his people and promote Hindu culture.

It was initially celebrated only in Maharashtra, but it has since spread to other parts of India and the world.

The Chaturthi Tithi will begin at 12:39 p.m. on September 18 and conclude at 1:43 p.m. on September 19.

Ganesh Visarjan or Anant Chaturdashi will be observed on September 28 this year.
