Search giant Google released a list of top 20 destinations for summer vacation 2024 based on the destinations most searched by travel enthusiasts. The list was also generated according to users’ past flight booking data and search trends.
On number one was London, the capital of England and United Kingdom. It is one of the world’s largest cosmopolitan cities and the largest metropolis in UK.
Paris, the capital of France came second. The European city is a global centre for art and fashion and is also known for the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame and Louvre Museum, among others.
Japan’s capital Tokyo also found a mention on the list. It is known as Japan’s major cultural centre and is an excellent blend of modern and traditional.
Next was Rome, the capital of Italy. Known for the Colosseum, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, Rome is a city seeped in history.
New York in the United States was also on the list and is known globally for the bustling Times Square, the lush green Central Park and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, referred to as the Met.
Cancun, a city in Mexico, is known for its beaches, resorts and nightlife. It is also a great place to indulge in water sports and exploring the Mayan Ruins.
The list also included Orlando, a city in Florida, popular for its theme parks and water parks. It houses the world famous Walt Disney World and Universal Studios as well.
Seattle, a city in Washington State of the US, is famous for being the headquarters of Starbucks and major tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon.
Athens, the capital of Greece, is a very popular tourist destination and is known to be one of the world’s oldest cities. It is also considered to be the birthplace of Western Civilisation.
