According to the World Happiness Index 2024, released on Wednesday, Finland emerged as the happiest country in the world for the seventh consecutive year in a row.
India ranked 126th out of the 143 nations that were listed in the global happiness index. According to the report, the young in India are the “happiest” while the “lower middle” section was the least happy.
The top 10 countries in the World Happiness Index were Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Australia.
India ranked 126th behind Libya, Iraq, Palestine and Niger. On the other hand, Pakistan ranked 108th on the list.
The United States dipped on the 23rd position and fell out of the top 20 for the first time since the World Happiness Index came out in 2012.
Afghanistan remained on the bottom of the list as the world’s ‘unhappiest’ country in the World Happiness Index.
