Born in 1950 on April 20, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, better known by his initials CBN, is an Indian politician who leads the opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly at the moment. Since 1995, he has served as the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) president.

Naidu's involvement in politics started in the 1970s when he joined the Indian National Congress (INC). He was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1978. He was a minister in the state government from 1980 to 1982. After that, he changed his political affiliation and joined the TDP, which his father-in-law, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, had founded

Naidu's public persona throughout his two stints as chief minister was that of an advocate for information technology-driven economic expansion and an economic reformer. In particular, his initiatives brought investments and modernization to Hyderabad, where he oversaw the establishment of HITEC City.

In 1996, he convened the United Front, which was his first involvement in national politics. Following the 1999 Lok Sabha elections, in which the TDP gained 29 seats and cemented Naidu's status as a nationally renowned politician, he backed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
