The Harley-Davidson X440 is a collaboration between two giants of the two-wheeler world, Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp.
This motorcycle has its pros and cons, with a 440cc engine and competitive pricing being some of its strengths, while lack of customisation options being some of its weaknesses.
Here are some of the pros and cons of the new motorcycle:
440cc engine with good low-end torque for city and highway riding.
Good NVH, refinement, and ergonomics for comfortable cruising.
Competitively priced with an extra ~90 cc compared to peers.
Built by Hero, who understands the Indian market well.
Decent features such as dual-channel ABS and Bluetooth connectivity.
Polarising design and styling.
Doesn't excel in any specific aspect in a competitive segment.
No riding modes or traction control for customisation.
Sales, after-sales, and service support are unknown as it's the first product of the partnership.
The X440 has KYB USD 43 mm dual cartridge forks on the front and gas-filled twin shocks on the rear.
The bike is nimble and easy to manoeuvre. MRF Zapper tyres 100/90/R18 on the front and 140/70/R17 on the rear.
The X440 has ByBRE disc brakes on both front (320 mm) and rear (240 mm). Braking is confident and stable.
Retro-roadster styling with wide, flat handle-bars and mid-set footpegs. Relaxed riding position suitable for long distances.
Unladen seat height set at 805 mm. Round mirrors offer limited view. Rider seat is wide and comfortable.
No options for customisation.
