Healthy South Indian Moong Dal Dosa (Pesarattu) Recipe For Breakfast

Producer:  Peuli Bakshi

INGREDIENTS: • 1 cup green gram (whole moong dal), soaked overnight • 1 small piece of ginger • 1-2 green chilies • Salt to taste • 1/4 cup rice flour (optional) • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds • Oil for cooking • 1-2 green chillies (optional) • Coriander leaves (optional) • Grated carrots (optional)

Rinse 1 cup of whole green moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-6 hours or overnight to soften the dal.

Drain the soaked moong dal and transfer it to a blender. Add a small ginger, 1-2 green chillies, and cumin seeds. Grind the mixture into a batter.

Add salt to taste. Optionally, you can also add chopped onions, coriander leaves, and grated carrots for added flavour.

Heat a non-stick tawa over medium heat. Once hot, lightly grease it with oil.

Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to form a dosa.

Add a few drops of oil around the dosa's edges to make it crisp. Cook on one side until its golden brown and crispy.

Optional: Add some chopped onions or coriander on top while cooking. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.
