ACTION PLAN: Stay hydrated, avoid strenuous exercise

ACTION PLAN: Move to shade, loosen clothing, hydrate

PREVENTION: -- Keep them in shade. -- Give them plenty of fresh, clean water. -- Don't leave them in enclosed vehicle. -- Keep them away from asphalt flooring which tends to heat quickly.

ACTION PLAN: -- Move them to a cool/air-conditioned area. -- Add ice to water when possible. -- Check on them frequently. -- Soak their vest or mat in cool water. -- If symptoms persist, take them to vet immediately.

DON'TS: -- Leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles. -- Have drinks with alcohol or too much caffeine. -- Do strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day. -- Venture out in high temperature.
