On your everyday commute, do you end up scrolling your phone mostly? Are you looking to break this routine?
Here's how you can do it. For Delhi residents to pick an Uber Shuttle Bus for their everyday commute, Uber has launched a novel campaign called #UberReads.
The new fleet of electric Uber Shuttle buses will come stocked with popular books and bestselling titles from Penguin Random House India to encourage riders to read during their rides.
The #UberReads campaign has been designed to allow riders to sit back comfortably in the air-conditioned EV buses with pre-booked seats and pick their favourite title from a handpicked selection of best sellers - encouraging reading over doomscrolling on smartphones during long rides.
As part of the #UberReads campaign, Uber and Penguin Random House India hosted a one-day heritage tour that left Uber Shuttle bus commuters both surprised and delighted.
The special ride transformed a routine commute into an enriching literary journey, taking select riders to some of Delhi’s most iconic and loved spots - Humayun’s Tomb and Lodhi Garden.
The journey featured live sessions with renowned authors Ashwitha Jayakumar and Nikhil Gulati, who shared stories from their book, The Book of Emperors.
As the second surprise of the day, Nona Uppal, the author of Fool Me Twice, captivated the audience with some contemporary tales that resonated deeply with the spirit of Delhi.
The literary experience was further enriched by a poetry reading from Eshan of Karwaan Heritage, whose verses added a poetic dimension to the exploration of Delhi's rich past.
Uber Shuttle offers riders the convenience of pre-booking seats up to a week in advance, while being able to make cashless payments, follow the live location of the bus on the Uber app, and have access to a round-the-clock safety helpline.
