Silk sarees should be washed after wearing them 4-5 times. It is crucial to read the label first when thinking of washing the saree because washing silk sarees with soap will destroy its character.
Cold water should always be used to wash silk sarees. The saree should be soaked in cold water for a while before washing. Hot water should be avoided to washing silk sarees because the colour will fade.
After soaking, a bucket of clean water should be taken and two spoons of white vinegar should be added. After adding, the saree should be dipped and kept in it for 10 minutes.
After washing, it should not be squeezed hard. It should be allowed to dry for some time. After a while, the saree should be dried in a shade. The saree should be kept away from the sun as there is a higher chance for the saree to fade.
A silk saree should not be kept with a plain saree. It should be kept in a separate place and covered with cotton cloth. This will keep the silk sarees completely safe from getting ruined.
