Mitchell Starc

Price Tag: Rs 24.75 crore

Team: Kolkata Knight Riders

Mitchell Starc's season stared slowly as he was wicketless after the first two matches. But the Australian speedster picked up momentum as the season progressed. His best bowling peformance of 4/33 was against MI. In the playoffs in Q1 and in the final Starc picked early wickets and broke the back of SRH's batting. He walked away with the Player of the Match award for both games and ended the season with 17 wickets.

Pat Cummins

Price Tag: Rs 20.50 crore

Team: Sunrisers Hyderabad

Pat Cummins was elevated as the captain of SRH ahead of the season. Under Cummins' captaincy SRH batted aggresively as they broke the record of the highest IPL total twice in the season. Cummins helped the likes of Abhishek Sharma and T Natrajan rediscover form. The Aussie inspired SRH all the way to the final and picked 18 wickets along the way.

Daryl Mitchell

Price Tag: Rs 14 crore

Team: Chennai Super Kings 

CSK invested heavily on Daryl Mitchell but unfortunately the team and the player, both, had start-stop season. The Kiwi scored 318 runs from 13 matches and hit two fifties and CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Harshal Patel

Price Tag: Rs 11.75 crore

Team: Punjab Kings

Harshal Patel found a new team this season as he joined PBKS. Although the team flopped but the player had a remarkable season with the ball. While PBKS finished 9th on the IPL Points Table, Patel was in red-hot form and picked 24 wickets, the most by a bowler this season. For that Harshal won the prestigious Purple Cap, a second of his career.

Alzarri Joseph

Price Tag: Rs 11.50 crore

Team: Royal Challengers Bengaluru

RCB bought Alzarri Joseph to strengthen their bowling attack. However all through the season the team failed to fit in their playing XI. As a result the West Indian could play only three games and claimed only one wicket.

Spencer Johnson

Price Tag: Rs 10.00 crore

Team: Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans made Spencer Johnson their most expensive signing of the season. But the Australian did not fit in GT's scope of things and struggled to get regular starts. The fast bowler played only 5 matches for the 2022 champions and picked mere 4 wickets.

Sameer Rizvi

Price Tag: Rs 8.40 crore

Team: Chennai Super Kings

Sameer Rizvi was the most expensive uncapped player of the season. The youngster started his IPL career in style with a thrilling cameo against GT. But after his debut he failed to get regular gametime and ended up playing 8 games from which he scored 51 runs.

Rilee Rossouw

Price Tag: Rs 8.00 crore

Team: Punjab Kings

At the start of the season Rilee Rossouw failed to get a place in PBKS's starting XI. But as the team was off to a slow start they picked Rossouw. However South Africa's hard-hitting batsman could not live upto his high standrards as he accumulated only 211 runs from 8 games.

Rovman Powell

Price Tag: Rs 7.40 crore

Team: Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals bought Rovman Powell to utlitize his all-round abilities. But Powell did not bowl and rarely got to show his abilities with the bat. The West Indies skipper played 10 matches in the season and scored only 103 runs.

Shahrukh Khan

Price Tag: Rs 7.40 crore

Team: Gujarat Titans

Shahrukh Khan found a new team this season as he was signed by Gujarat Titans. Despite his all-round abilities, the Tamil Nadu based cricketer played only half of GT's 14 league games. In those 7 games, Shahrukh scored only 127 runs and hit one fifty.
