How javelin star Neeraj Chopra performed in 2024

With Neeraj Chopra's season coming to an end with a second-place finish in the Diamond League final in Brussels, we take a look at how the Indian javelin star fared in 2024

Chopra's season began in the Doha meet in the Diamond League, where he finished second with a best throw of 88.36m

That was followed by the 27h Federation Cup in Bhubaneswar in which an 82.27m throw was enough for Chopra to be adjudged winner

Chopra's only victory in an international event came in the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland, where he won with a best throw of 85.97m

Then came the Paris Olympics, where the defending champion breezed into the final with an 89.34m throw

Chopra, however, had to contend with a silver medal in Paris after Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem bettered his 89.45m effort with a monster 92.97m throw, a new Olympic record

The 26-year-old delivered his season-best performance in the Lausanne meet of the Diamond League with a throw measuring 89.49m, finishing second once again

Chopra's 2024 season ended up with another second-place finish as he finished runner-up in the Diamond League final with a throw of 87.86m, missing out on the title by just one centimetre
